    Default It's tough loving cats.

So Yesterday Morning I though my mom had accidently let my new cat outside, he showed up around the 2nd week of March right after I lost one of my best one's due to a stroke on my birthday (March 6th). This one is a grey Tabby Bob-Tail (like a Manx) high hind quarters and all. He would disappear if he got out, still kinda in his wild phase. So I searched the neighborhood and got a bit over heated and almost had a heat stroke, had to stop then. I was sick with worry cause he was a "show up" in not good condition. I got him well then had him fixed and micro chipped. So early this morning I'm getting a T Shirt out of my drawer and guess who pops up out from behind the drawer? Yep, it was my cat, he had spent all day and night there without a peep (well I did think I heard 2 soft meows this morning but thought it was one of my other cats). So here I am all wore out from walking the neighborhood checking barns etc.,etc. But the best thing is I have my cat. Mr. Robert E. Lee. Thanks for listening. Its tough loving your animals.

Let's keep this thread going as the official cat thread as a compliment to the dog thread. There's just as many people around that like, love and dote on cats as there are on dogs.

Let me add to this thread. My avatar is Lil Mama. She was a cat that understood the human condition better than just about any human I know. Always, and I man always, knew when I was not 100% and made it her business to get on my lap and stay there till she was convinced that I was in a better mood or feeling better. She gave me 6 kittens from 3 Toms in her only litter (I've been a cat midwife several times). Kept two, a big, 25 lb goofy black & white named Prince and a half Siamese with the look and voice of her father named Minnie Mouth - cause she doesn't stop telling me every little wrong I'm doing. She turns 16 in August. Both Lil Mama and Prince rejoined the Universe in 2013.

IMHO saying 'I have a cat/cats' is like saying I have a straight razor ........... A picture or it didn't happen.

One of these days I'll have my brother teach me to post pics, I used to do rescues and adoptions for Petsmart, I still have 3 from that era one is a regular old grey tabby mamma cat I rescued from the pound. I was leaving having already picked out a white cat and her baby when I heard this MEOW from down low, there she was just a pawing at me from the bottom tier of cadges. I bet she was an old ladies cat that when she died nobody wanted her. She is about 15 now with just one tooth left, (a canine). It will be a sad day when she goes, but she will have lived a full life and being loved.

I've had Dachshunds for 64 years, and always thought that I was a dog person, that is until my 15 year old Norwegian Forest Cat slowly died of kidney failure a year ago. For most of those years, I found him annoying, as he wanted to be my constant companion, whereas I could give my dogs attention when I wanted to. I've grieved with each pet's passing, but nothing like I did for this cat.

After six months of missing him, I adopted an 8 year old Norwegian Forest Cat mix. She's nothing like him, but has taken over the role of being constantly at my side, even when I don't want her there. Damn cats!

We have 2 cats and 2 dogs. The dogs are mostly the wife's, and cats mine. I love cats. When dogs can be better trained to pee in a box I'll love mine more. BTW, I think the cats love me too.
