Thanked: 3795I was the schmuck taking down some of the signs. When I lived in Iowa City several people in the neighborhood thought it was fine to NAIL yard sale signs to a tree in my yard because it was near an intersection. I disagreed.
One idiot actually called the police on me because I removed HER sign from MY tree.

Thanked: 39Dinnermint, I am with you all the way on this I had a guy last week that never even slowed downed at the 4 way and turned left on me, if I had been 3 feet further up he would have taken off the front of my car. He looked to be between 80 to 90 with no clue where he was I bet. I am 55 and think you should have to take your drivers test every 3 years starting at 50. Too many heads up in the ozone for some drivers.

I think waiting until 50 is too long. I always propose every year for new drivers until 20, every 3 or 5 years until 50 to 60. Then maybe every 2 after that. It may sound harsh and annoying, but it is a simple fact that when one ages things go downhill. Heck, people that wise shouldn't have to drive. The flip side is I love driving, if I could hop on a racetrack and toot around all day I would. It would suck for someone or the gov't to strip that privilege away. At the end of the day it is a safety concern that is not addressed and left with families do deal with it.

Thanked: 39You are probably right, its the reason my Mom takes the back way when coming home from work, She had some jerk on a phone side swipe her coming on the interstate. He merged right on top of her and put her in the ditch, didn't even slow down, kept right on going. She had some nice people stop and help her and one guy was able to get his tag number. I bet his insurance really liked THAT report.

Thanked: 39Once again it happened! someone left a beautiful Persian kitty cat that they had run over in the road, she was still warm and limp. I asked around the neighboring houses and nobody claimed it. I took it home and gave it a nice burial. She is in good company with 3 other cats. Why would someone just leave a pretty cat like that in the road? I just don't understand. She was a big cat so you know they ran it over and just didn't care.
