Okay, let's see how this goes. I helped my wife make yogurt this weekend. Here is a photo essay...
Bringing milk to a boil
Adding starter yogurt to milk after bringing pot down below 110 deg F in ice bath
Straining

That is awesome!
There are so many healthy advantages to a live culture yogurt. It helps build the flora in your gut to help better digestion and over all health.
Most don't realize many of the store bought yogurt are not live cultures and are basically just a dairy product with normal advantagesLook sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

I made my own buttermilk before, if you want that recipe ask Roy (Cudarruner) I think I liked it mucho better than the store bought, cause I was able to get it to the texture and thickness I wanted,
this year is our third year for the garden and I believe we will expand to include some more canned goods to keep out store bought cans down, but off the grid? , I,m staying in my house with all the amenities. just like the fresh garden veggies Tc“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

Here is the property I got back in Aug 2016. It's 20 acres.....
A lot of work to do here..... I highlighted some areas on what we are planning to do.
We are looking forward to providing what we need and not relying on buying as much in the future.
Is it over there or over yonder?

Thanked: 13246This year I tried Rendering my own Lard from Leaf fat
It took me WAY longer then it should have, I thought I had done pics but I can't find them
I used a very low temp as to not burn it and yellow it, I have a couple of quarts of just beautiful pure white Leaf Lard in the freezer..
I take it out for making Buttermilk Biscuits... I doubt I will ever use Crisco or store bought Lard again
