No razor grinders or tinkers taken in!!!
I was checking the Natick, MA Historical Society website and came across some of the rules for the inns and taverns of early Natick and thought I'd share.
It is amusing to read some of the rules for those stopping the night. "No more than five to a bed, No boots to be worn in bed, No dogs allowed upstairs, No razor grinders or tinkers taken in, Organ grinders to sleep in the wash house."

Thanked: 3795If you google the relevant phrase, you will find that many inns had variations of these same rules. Apparently honers were not very popular back then.
