Sorry to hear youe troubles TC. Glad noone got hurt. You surecwork alot for being retired. Ha. Good luck on the salvage.
Yep, in the Rockies we get snow very late in the spring. Problem is its really wet and heavy. As was said, tree limbs come down. So do trees! Drive around the bend in the road at 60mph and find a tree laying in the road or partly is nothing new.
Well off to make me another 2 bits and keep the stations up and running. Good luck to all in the odd season of weather! It's just Sharpening, right?

Yep, you know it. Another thing that you see a lot this time of year is rocks or bolders in the road. The ground get soft from the thaw and it loosenes the rocks. Down they come. Ive see a few big ones that would wipe out a car. Never seen a car hit one or hit one myself but it happens. Keep eyes on the road as they say. Im loading at the moment btw.

Thanked: 481I'm always leery driving around the western mountain-y side of the state. Yeah, they put up what looks like a plastic net along the edge of the road, but I have a funny suspicion that won't really do much if those big ol' rocks sitting up on them hills decide they want to roll on down for a change of scenery. And small 2-lane mountain roads are scary as hell.
Fortunately things have been somewhat normal in my neck of the woods. No ice, and no twisters. Of course the problem here is usually Hurricanes and those should still be a ways off unless Mother Nature is feeling especially vindictive this year.

They use heavy cable nets around here. And concrete walls. But if a biggie want to come down, no man made device is going to stop it momentem that i know. The cables are just for the small ones.
