You seem to get quite a few visitors from Canada. Do not make the mistake of thinking if they are Canadian geese that they are friendly.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Around here farmers often have free running geese in the yard as well as a watchdog, the dog for when the geese have sufficiently tenderized the intruder!
I been goosed but thank heaven, not geesed.

They don't quit as they get after someone. I worked for an old man a while who had some down at his pond.
One of them commenced to attacking him. The more he kicked it, the more it came back at him. As he finally made it back inside, he was quite bloodied.
Some first aid and loaded the shotgun. After the goose was consumed, he related that goose was pretty good after all!

When I was younger we used to have geese in the yard. One time I remember trying to count them and got up to 500 and gave up. I was always surprised at the people that were more afraid of the geese than a dog. The trick with geese is to not back down. We never had to mow lawn but we couldn't or at least didn't want to go barefoot!

One of the larger lakeside parks in Minneapolis had a goose and duck problem, no-one could get near the beach or picnic there. Green slime to the ankles. Last I heard, they tried almost every thing to get the birds gone...didn't work!

The meanest birds I have ever run across were Red Wing Black birds.

I could fill up a separate goose story thread but I will stop to go back to the pictures
