It’s starting to look a lot like winter!

I love winter. I do not like the sloppy transition period that often leads up to it.

I would love to see some photos of the winter storm sea states in your neck of the woods! Sailors are often given a sigh when they describe conditions at sea.
I spent a couple years in month long pickets up there in a little 300 foot top heavy destroyer. Also time North of there and I remember some really nasty sea conditions, 9 Beaufort and higher.

    JMO but thanks

It’s hard to get a good picture of what it actually looks like. I will try to get some action shots for you Richard. On one side of the island it is open ocean, not a land mass until you hit the tail of the Aleutians or Japan, on the other side is a shallow strait with a giant funnel at either end. It is an ugly piece of water named Hecate after one of the witches in McBeth.

One of the ponds by me was 3/4 froze over when I came home tonight.

The "big" lake about 80 acres had no ice visible.

Ice fishing is entering my mind though.

It’s easy to make that stuff at home Tim, there is no need to fish for it. They even make fancy trays to make them fun shapes. You can load the freezer up every day if you like.
