That injury ended my straight razor shaving adventure. I did treat it myself, no stitches. Bandaids and superglue.

If you have enough coordination to drive a big rig you have enough to shave with a straight.

Evidence suggests otherwise. It bled off and on for almost three weeks, I kept breaking open the wound while hooking/dropping trailers. When my wife saw, she insisted everything to do with straights went in the garbage. When I feel a bit resentful about that, I look at this pic. I purposely didn’t get one the night it happened. I still get grossed out when I remember how deep it was. I was in a truck stop in the middle of a snowstorm and had to make do with bandaids, superglue, an ace bandage, and a wad of paper towels.

If I had just got my hand out of the way of the dropped blade, it would have been fine. But no, I not only tried to catch it but when I felt the blade bite I went full on beast mode retard and closed my hand around it.

That's always my worry, if I drop something I automatically try to catch it.

I shave naked after my shower, cos I'm that brave (stupid)

Incidentally, my wife nagged me daily to stop being stupid and get a decent electric when i first started and had a new cut everyday. Now she buys me shaving soap as gifts and rubs my cheeks to see how well I shaved that day.

I am sorry to hear your decision and my thoughts go to the idea if you hit your thumb with a hammer don't blame the hammer.

    Too many words here.

By the way that cut needs professional attention. You know what they say about someone who is their own doctor.

Please don't add anything more here. Let's move on to the next topic here.
