    Last fall I cut my hand while doing drywall. 14 stitches and a week off work. At no point did I consider that I should never do drywall or use a utility knife again.

    It is a prickly pear cactus, the fruit and leaf things are edible.

    I don't know about that, if my hammer shows any sign of antisocial behavior towards me it gets no second chances. I have a zero tolerance policy, it would be replaced and it knows it.

    I don't hold this policy for inanimate objects like a hammer or a razor.

    Now for animate objects like my dog or Tc I agree with you.
