Thanks for that TC. I have a bit of understanding being on the other end of it as you were. So many people think it's a simple as the Pres says raise the price and it happens.

BTW, Paul I saw that same sticker put on a few pumps today. Just before the station attendant was taking a razor blade to them to scrap them off. It's a shame what people are so easily made to believe from TV or Radio. NO, Joe didn't MAKE the price high to get even with anyone! A lot more goes into the price of fuel.

    Yeah, I get all that.

The sticker WAS funny...when I saw it. Should have saved that one I guess.

Even when the price of oil tanked the Alberta/Athabasca tar sands, which has 10% of the known oil reserves in the world, kept producing and selling at a loss. To shut down and start up later would cost more than to just keep running and selling at a loss.

Maybe a mod can correct the photo, but that works out about $6.51 US a gallon for 91 octane.

I can hear your frustration Paul.

I think you should drill for more oil in the US and then send it abroad, just like we do with the the oils sands in Alberta.

Well, 98% of Canada's oil production is exported to the US where it is refined and some gets exported abroad from there which counts for some of US exports abroad. Hard to think of exporting oil to the US as sending it abroad in the usual sense.

Respectfully I have to disagree Bob.

The US is a different country, with a different currency and different government. We need a passport now to go there and can only stay for 6 months so I don't see the difference between America and any other foreign country.

No disrespect to the US intended, it's great country full of great people. I have been to every State and would love to move to Oregon or Vermont. I am just trying to make a good humored point

Honestly I just thought the sticker on th pump was funny. That's all I got.

I used to know more about it but paying attention to the details of politics and world events just made me angry all the time and created problems with other people. Hard to remain neutral for business purposes when you're pissed and opinionated all the time. I found there was very little I could do to affect it anyway as we have allowed government to be too large for the public to control anyway. Short of global upheaval and anarchy I doubt we will ever be free from it now.
