For those who don't know, all the species of anoles are melanomorphic like the chameleon. They also have eyes that move independently like the chameleon does but they don't extrude like the chameleon's so no one jumps up and down about it but whatever...
Anyway, the brown anole normally changes from tan to dark brown and even black. Red phase is pretty rare. They change to all the colors of other brown anoles but also include yellow and red. Are you kidding? That's one of the coolest things about living in Florida. I spent my youth chasing and catching them. Hell, I still like to catch lizards. Snakes not as much anymore. I caught a 5 foot Eastern Diamondback one time.
