Tell your son he better keep an eye on that pre 64 Winchester, I've been looking to replace one,
Roger I have an old Remington model 700 bdl in 30.06 with an old red field scope. Been doing my shooting for 30 years. It's is a tack driver. When we move down to Mississippi I am going to start up again, but lately just not enough time. Tc“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

Thanked: 4826I here you Roger. We are never far from a road here though, and we alway throw a cart in the truck for hunting on foot on closed roads. There used to be a lot more deer here than there is now, but with the political assasination of the commercial fishing industry people need a food source that is not crazy expensive.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I've own many different firearms including the Rem.700 BDL but it was in 300 Win mag. It killed on one end and stomped on the other. One thing about it what ever I shot stayed shot. The first year I had it I shot very tight groups. The next year not as tight and the third year I shot patterns and the forth year I couldn't hit the ground if I shot straight down. I learned to be a better shot and went to a less kicking gun.

Yep had a 300 win mag in a Ruger 66 I believe, I didn't need it that much and sold it, my 30.06 has downed more than its fair share all over the country and as big as elk and some monster hogs, never failed me if I did my job. But that 300 was a shoulder killer. Got me a black powder rifle with the sale and was much happier. Tc
