Boots or business shoes?
Or maybe loafers if you're retired.
I want to know what my fellow SRP members do for work and what work they might do on their off time. I wear steel toed shoes running my bakery equipment repair business. I fix ovens and mixers and other common equipment you would find in a commercial kitchen or bakery. On my off time I wear cowboy boots Taking care of my goats and chickens and tending to our rather large garden on my little acre of heaven.
So what do you guys wear?Last edited by JMS; 07-16-2007 at 09:16 PM.

Thanked: 150Depends upon the day. Some days it is the mirror polished dress shoe. Some days, the tassel loafers. Somedays, doc martens. I am an attorney specializing in the defense of the employer and insurance carrier in workers' compensation claim. (insert lawyer joke here)
on the weeked, nothing but flip flops in the summer, and sorels in the winter. I love playing the mountains, rain, snow or shine. sometimes it is the footjoys on the weekend, when I have my 5:45 tee time.Last edited by mhailey; 07-16-2007 at 11:00 PM. Reason: forgot to include my job

I wear construction boots on the motorcycle coming in to work, then change into business attire.

Thanked: 3I wear dress shoes some days, most of the days I wear loafers. Ehh... I'm an undergrad student at about age 18, far from retirement... Although I am starting my reitrement plan about now-ish. Back in my high school it wasn't uncommon to see kids wearing loafers or dress shoes as casualwear. It wasn't a private school or anything, and we didn't have uniforms. This is just how the school dressed.
During the winter though, I wear boots. I've got some $200 boots that I got for a back packing trip. Hate to see them go to waste... I think I need another pair of boots. The ones I have are brown, and I need some black ones to match my other outfits.

Ropers on the job as a code enforcement inspector and off the job. Been wearing the same pair for 3 years now. Sneakers or Arias boots on weekends.

Shiny dress shoes or loafers for work. Crocs when I get home and on the weekends.

Thanked: 1587Well, it depends on what I'm doing. Work (Uni) can either be those sandally-type things or boots or dress shoes. I usually dress up for meetings, or if I'm giving a seminar, but not for lecturing the students (I am "down" with the young people of today
).
Around the yard I wear work boots - we've got a couple of acres too. And sandshoes when I'm riding my bike or walking the dogs. I think I might have every type of shoe actually.

Doc Marten shoes for work, Doc Marten boots for outside work. They seem to be an unusually popular brand on the forum.
