Interesting question. Given that the results so far from the US participants both here and on B&B are all over the board I'd imagine that we'd see a similar trend from other countries. This is an extremely small sample size however so it wouldn't be a very accurate result.

Thanked: 3Well I know I'm greatly influenced by the people in my town. We're mostly liberals and libertarians.

Thanked: 1587I'm a complete liberal. Probably not suprising - I was brought up in a social-welfare era in Australia.

My political views were greatly influenced by reading "Restoring the American Dream" by Robert Ringer when I was a teenager.
Just the other day I was re-reading it for the first time in over 25 yrs and I thought "Wonder if Ringer is still alive?". Google being a wonderful thing I found www.robertringer.com
I was blown away by his essays (see the "core beliefs" section) on his political philosophy. 25 years of time goes by and I have completely independently evolved to almost exactly the same place as a man I've always credited with helping shaping my philosophy!!! It was a very moving experience for me. I don't know if that makes sense but I am still a bit shocked, almost giddy, with the knowledge that we ended up in the same place.
