My Dad
My Dad was a commercial artist and sign painter just like his Dad. He was stationed on Guam with the 20 Bomber Command during WW2. He was the editor of "The Bomb Rack" a military "moral" publication for the entire Army Air Force in the Pacific theatre. He also designed and painted-nose art, along with others under his supervision. He operated a commercial art and sign shop in downtown Ft.Worth for nearly 30 years.
He was a quiet man with an outrageous sense of humor. I've got a lump in my throat, I miss him terribly. Happy Father's day Pop!

Thanked: 4827My dad and I were always oiled and water. I loved him dearly but it was very difficult for us. I too miss my father. He was a military man. His insignia was communications, as a young man he was a technician, then he went into top secret stuff. I have no idea what he actually did at work but it had something to do with communications R&D.

My dad was also a military man in WWII. From my Aunts (dad's sister) accounts and docs I have he was a medic. She also told me that another of his jobs was to take out snipers when they had our troops pinned down, makes sense as I have his carbine expert medal along with the others he earned. I guess he was on a ship setting out in the Pacific waiting to invade when they decided to drop the bomb instead. If they had invaded I probably wouldn't be posting this today.
I proudly wear his dog tags to honor those who have served.................Thank you dad and all members of the military past and present for your service!"If You Knew Half of What I Forgot You Would Be An Idiot" - by DoughBoy68

You asked for it!
We were on a long trip. I told Dad my foot was falling asleep. He said ''We'll stop, get coffee and throw it on your foot".
Another time when I was a kid I sent a Cartoon to the New Yorker Magazine, a few weeks later I got a rejection slip.
Dad said, "Keep sending those cartoons, then get a goat, feed the goat your rejection slips and drink the milk.
When a friend asked him how he liked the 1967 movie Bonnie and Clyde, he said, "It was good but I didn't like the way they Dunaway with the girl".Last edited by MisterClean; 06-06-2018 at 01:34 PM. Reason: grammer
