I really can't expound on this comment Jerry, but like Mike I worked/hung out at a strip club for a short while. And I was the go to guy..............Mostly for body removal

Used to know a guy with a fishing tackle store with a big mincer

So I had been in the restaurant game for about fifteen years. Honestly it was going to kill me and most likely end my marriage. So we sold everything and moved to Europe. My wife and I started a small hobby b and b. Now we spend our days taking care of guests and living together in all adventures. This decision has given me a beautiful son and someday soon another addition. But more importantly it had allowed me to love and enjoy my family. So currently I do whatever seems fun with a small focus on business.

I still do some consulting for restaurants and the like. Occasionally I guest chef at friends places and this keeps the blood following.

I told my mom and dad I,m a piano player in a whorehouse, so they wouldn't know I was a roughneck. I retired from the oilfield after 40 years, with the same company worked my way from floor to top floor. great pension, and I,m still alive. so what did I do after 2 years retired I went back to wildcatting and unlike some, I never worked a day in my life, I love my job. if you don't think so ask my family, they have always stood by me, but they know I love it out there.

I've always admired you guys who work with your hands, in the various trades, etc. I'm just a wimpy English teacher myself. I've been working since I was 14, starting off the books and underage at a local family-run drive-in in Monroe, North Carolina. The owner paid me $5 per shift and whatever I could make in tips (which was pretty good on Sundays when the drunks would show up in their hot rods!).

I worked my way through college at the Stouffer's/Nestle plant in Gaffney, SC; it only took me 12 years to do it lol! I did about every job that you could do there, and ended with a few years driving forklifts in the warehouse. Anyway, I finally got my education degree in '96, and have been teaching high school English now for going on 22 years. With absolutely no interest in going into administration (a job I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!), I suppose I have reached the pinnacle of my profession: department chair, teaching AP English Language and Literature, British Lit., etc. I love my job, though I could do without all the politics, meetings, and pointless paperwork. But hey, nobody feels sorry for teachers in the summer, right?!

It is more than my job, though; it is my mission in life. In fact, if I were to keel over dead one day in mid-lecture on Hamlet's madness or helping our kids learn to do college-level writing, I would be fine going out like that.

Regardless of what you do, I'll say what I say to my seniors every day: "Work hard, play hard."

I'd say by the looks of those razors that you re-scaled with abalone, you've got the working with your hands thing down pat.
