Thread: What is Travel??

We lived in the UK for 4 years and never owned a car - public transport was great (compared to where we are now). And we hired a car for larger trips (like to Scotland or wherever).

Probably just like the US, Australian cities are generally very large, geographically speaking. We live in an outer suburb of Brisbane, and it takes 40 minutes in a car to get to the city center (or and hour and 20 minutes in traffic) one way. A lot of that is poor transportation planning and traffic control, which no doubt will be addressed in the fullness of time....
