Years ago i was reading a magazine that readers would write in to and tell about a certain dish they had at a restaurant and ask if the magazine could get the recipe for it.

One was for 'Sesame Chicken' and the recipe used 'Tahini' but said that peanut butter could be used but wouldn't be nearly as good.

Since I'd never used Tahini I made the dish using peanut butter and it was very good. So I decided to splurge and buy the tahini and give that a go.

I must say that I do prefer the tahini but the peanut butter isn't far behind.

I will have to try a small turkey and peanut butter sandwich.

    I won't start with a large one!

    Hot or cold sandwiches...........

Jeff Smith who was the TV chef 'The Frugal Gourmet' said that he loved peanut butter sandwiches BUT they had to be made with toast. I've tried it and it does change things up.

So maybe some warmed up turkey then room temp peanut butter spread on fresh from the toaster toast and topped with the warm turkey

When you said way back in the day I at first assumed cold.

    Probably premicrowave?

I will try it at first cold but then I have had Turkey and cheese grilled sandwiches many times.

If the cold one tastes good I may try a grilled turkey and peanut butter sandwich.....

Back in the day means when the kids were at home and we used to do turkey every year.
Now we usually go to the kids homes for Thanksgiving.

I just looked....plenty of recipes online for Turkey Peanut butter Satay.
    Kinda looks like teriyaki beef.

Sounds like it would be excellent warm.

My first attempt cold. The peanut butter covered it up and that is mostly what I tasted.

Made a second one with less peanut butter and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and that was much better although I wouldn't drive 10 miles for a meal of it.

Yea, chicken satay is good eating and can imagine turkey satay might not be bad also.

I learnt about it in the Caribbean. Beef was the first I tried. Mmmmm good!
I see it online spelled Satay but I distinctly remember them spelling it Sate.
I wonder which is correct or if both spellings are used??

Chicken Satay is originally an Indonesian dish so I bet Sate is a Caribbean corruption of Satay.
