Yes, it is from the same family of viruses but we have never dealt with this particular family member before. This Covid 19 has killed and infected multitudes more globally in less that 6 months than it's other family members or SARS. It is different and apparently exponentially harder to deal with for some reason.

The issue is you can have the bug and infect others and yet have no symptoms. By the time symptoms arise (and many never do have symptoms at all) you've infected who knows how many folks.

Additionally they are finding more ways this thing can infect you; sneezing, coughing, through fecal spray and even just breathing and talking. Also, it seems to infect different people in severely different ways. Some get nothing and some die.

In many ways it's the perfect bug from the viewpoint of the bug.

Another way of saying.....nature always keeps a balance.

If we find a cure, nature will provide something even worse to take its place, till everything is back in balance, and in check with all species that inhabit this planet. PERIOD.!!

Takes it as you will, works for me. take a HEPA filter vacuum bag cut up rectangles to slip inside and you got a reusable filter mask. Works for me. survive and help your neighbor survive !!

Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down! Actually I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking coffee and we all agreed that things are getting bad. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron straightened me out as she said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The vacuum was very unsympathetic... told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over! The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion and didn’t say anything but the door knob told me to get a grip. The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to ........yes, you guessed it .....pull myself together

You either missed or ignored what I said

This isn't a new Virus as to precautions..

I never said the Virus was the same, I said the precaution protocols were

ie: The Doctors/Politicos/Expert talking heads Lied for over 2 months telling people to NOT wear masks of some sort

Also keep in mind that in every emergency room I have ever visited in the last 30 years there are Masks at the door and you are asked to wear one if you even THINK you might be contagious

We were told to IGNORE that common sense advice for the last two months by every one on every channel and in every article

Yup, I misinterpreted the wording for sure. Yup, if you "think you might be contagious" has been the common advice for a long time now. Unfortunately, many people who are spreaders of Covid 19 show no signs of bring infected so have no reason to even THINK they need to wear a mask.

Yup, my HMO has a sanitizing station with masks and signs saying if you have a rash call don't come in. It's right at the front door and has been for many years now. Few utilize it.

This is a magnitude problem now and I'm glad our President now says to wear a mask and is leading by example right?
