Thanked: 3227Had the first death in our area from Covid 19 the other day. Our district has 62 confirmed cases besides the one death. Things are getting real.

Thanked: 4206Still no reported cases at the home my wife works at thankfully, nor my place of work either.
I am installing a test station for temp taking as staff report for duty though.
Seems my little plastic plant is the last one in our Corporate family of 8 sites across NA that is still in full production, all others have had to shut down or reduce shift capacity due to the virus spread.
Stay safe during this spread men, my little berg of Orangeville seems to be managing right now.
The next few weeks will tell a lot as things start to open up again.

Thanked: 13246Operation Isolation: Day 38
Shan and I have been at it for 38 days
Officially as of now the state comes off our "Stay at home Orders" April 30th, so far I have been the one that does all the actual shopping etc: yesterday was only the second time Shan has been inside a store since this started.
Looks as though Shan goes back to work at the DMV tentatively Mon May 4th, they are doing some remodels and putting up Plexi Shields at each station.
Still trying to sort out the procedure for actual VIN Inspections, we haven't heard about PPE yet but She WILL be wearing it even if I have to give her our N95's
I don't worry at all about our County, we had 4 positive cases all from out of area that have since been cleared and no new cases in over two weeks. Our Hospital never treated a case, all were sent home to self isolate and all cleared up.
Shan has to deal with Out of State people mostly from CA and WA but the state/county is talking about cutting that off so we have to see.
The people that are really hurting up here are the people that own their own little shops, they make about 70% of their money from Tourists here and it looks like that isn't going to happen this year.
The City has basically done everything possible in the last 5 years to kill the business's downtown, this might be the final straw for many of them
We are waiting to see what is going on with the Lake, so this might be the first summer in 8 years that we don't have a boat in the water.. This isn't really a Wuhan Virus issue the Lake level has been an on going fight for many years, but it looks like they are trying to exploit the virus.. We shall see what happens .
But all in all things have been pretty good up here in the backwoods, but honestly this type of thing is one of the reasons we left the cities almost 20 years ago now..
