Throwing with the nephews ....
It’s always fun ...coming to Uncle Nessmucks house. My nephews love throwing knives and hawks ! And those knives were thrown in there too !

Apparently this sport is growing, in my little town a new store opened up called THE SOUTHERN AXE. It is a throwing club kinda like an archery range. Guys go in and throw axes and knives at the range or hang out and shoot the bull.

Thanked: 292That looks like a lot of fun.
Unfortunately, I never had that opportunity. I have one daughter and one granddaughter, but not a single niece or nephew. I never could get my daughter interested in any of my hobbies when she was growing up.
My grandaughter has always lived over 900 miles away and I am lucky I get to get to see her once a year for a couple of days. Our annual visit this year was cancelled due to the pandemic. I have no idea when I will get to see them again.
My parents, aunts and uncles are all dead now. I have a few cousins, but I only get to see them at funerals and weddings.

tried to learn to throw my hawk when i first got it. Wore myself out walking back and forth picking it off the ground and never did get the hang of it. Guess i don't have the patience/time to learn something like that.

Around these parts when the relations come over we draw straws and the loser gets tied to a tree and we see how close we can get without hitting the victim. Of course sometimes we get too close. Just ask cousin leftee.

There are places that combine axe-throwing with a brew pub, which seems...like not a great idea.

I've been hearing about a place like this on the radio that recently opened up near me.
I can only imagine a bunch of half lit Paul Bunyan's hurling numerous sharp objects.

The big trick is to judge your distance and then to start with the blade front or backwards.
Let it slip out of your hand.
Been a long time but 27 paces was my best consistent hit with a hatchet.
