We bought 3 years ago and have used 1 , city warned us we would be without water for a couple days on a repair, so filled one up in the hall bathroom to flush the toilet and wash up, worked just fine

5 gallon buckets or a good drain plug work well also.

Yes they do, but most drain plugs leak and buckets are not handy for women, transfer is easy and stays clean without dust bugs, wet floors from spills into buckets, just pump into the toilet tank or sink. Only used once since got them and it was worth it, kinda like my generator. Sits around doing nothing but when you need it, worth every penny. Ask anyone in Texas if they would like to have water and electric
