All right the last thing I want to do is hijack the OPs thread with more vitriol. I just thought it was funny. You have to admit Joe makes it pretty easy. I listened to all the jokes about Donnie and I laughed about them, the ones that were funny at least. Just trying to have a little fun. Hell, if you can't laugh at your politicians who can you laugh at?

We were not ready for the cold weather here in North Texas, The toilets at the shop are still full of ice and the supply line is still frozen. I have the main turned off for now until it thaws.
A water pipe at my Mom's house froze also. Her house has some exposed plumbing in the garage where the water softener used to be. A heating pad, some bailing wire, and a cardboard box got that going again.
Luckily at my house most has thawed out, we lucked out with the inside the house pipes, the hose bibs are still frozen even though the had the foam covers on them.Last edited by spazola; 02-22-2021 at 11:23 PM.

Thanked: 56I was going to say that the thread was dead anyway, so they could do what they wanted with it. But, if you still need anything from it, have at it.
.
Sorry you are still going through it. We are pretty much back to normal here. But, it is going to take a week to get a plumber to my inlaw's place to fix a pipe. Fortunately he was able to patch it up with some linoleum and hose clamps, so they have their water on still. If you're wondering I'm probably being sarcastic.

Thanked: 557A few years ago a switch on my furnace failed while we were away and the house got down to -15°C (5°F) for a week. The water pipes froze.
The real problem wasn’t getting the water flowing again once we were able to restore the heat. It was discovering which pipes had split (some in interior walls) and which faucets/valves no longer held pressure and had to be replaced. Some of that didn’t show up for a day or two. We were lucky that all the plumbing was on the ground floor and our basement wasn’t finished. That allowed us to make the necessary fixes without having to tear more than one of the walls and any of the ceilings apart.
Just a heads up for when the power comes back and the pipes thaw out. Best ofluck to all of you.David
