Aside from brewing, I think it is important for a man to be able to tell good beer from bad beer. I have no doubt that most of the guys here can, but it is almost disgusting how often you see guys buying sub-par brew. Makes me want to cry.
In addition, a man should know when to fight and when to hold back.
A man should be able to provide for his family.
A man should be responsible for his mistakes.
A man should know when to speak and when to keep quiet.
A man should know how to do at least basic automotive repair (or figure it out).
A man should know how to appreciate the finer things in life, but also do without them.
A man should be able to cook anywhere.
A man should have a good understanding of tools.
A man should be able to protect and stand up for those he loves.
A man should know how to be gentle and kind.
A man should not shy away from a good days labor (dig a ditch every now and again).
And last but not least, a man should know the true meaning of respect, and be prepared to earn it.

A man must be able to do what ever needs to be done, no matter if he wants to do it or not.
