I have used 3 different custom tailors, all with good results. Find a good tailor near you that does custom suits and see if he has "off the rack suits" he can alter. A tailor's off the rack suits are going to be top notch and a good value for the money. In my area I can get a NICE suit for $400, custom suits can be 3 times that cost.
