I am of course disqualified from choosing (I didn't vote in this poll) but if I had to choose I would pick Obama.
The guy seems honest enough, and from what I read he has some good ideas (but what do I know).
Clinton would be my second choice because I like some of her ideas. She is accused of being cold and ruthless, but I'd say that applies to most of the presidents so far. Only they hide it better.
The reason I am not in favor for her is that it would be another presidency that stays in the family. I doubt GW would have had a fighting chance if his family was not one of governors and senators (and a president of course).
McCain is a bit old. In fact, I think he is way too old. I don't know his agenda, but even if he was a democrat he would be my least favorite for the same reason.
Romney would be my favorite rep candidate. I think he is perfectly capable of identifiying problems, setting goals and then working 3 years on fixing them.
I would like an Obama - Romney race.
EDIT: My opinions are probably not qualified compared to those of the US members here. I can only go by what I see and read on this side of the pond.Last edited by Bruno; 02-06-2008 at 11:37 AM.

None of the above. I'm really frustrated with the way Huckabee and McCain are joining forces to take down Romney. It's sleazy, if completely legal. I've suspected for weeks that they have some kind of sweetheart deal; don't be surprized if McCain selects Huckabee as his VP candidate. A McCain-Huckabee ticket is the least appealing slate I could possibly have come up with out of the roster of choices, and they'll get creamed in November.
I never thought I'd do this, but I'll probably vote third party or abstain from voting in the presidential race.

Ron Paul, or whoever the Libertarian Party gets to run (if they even bother with a candidate this year... Badnarik was something of a disappointment)

Thanked: 13249I would chose not to vote in this election, but I was taught from a young age that it is not only a right in the USA to vote it should be taken as a duty....
My father was a 3 war Vet (WWII, Korea, Vietnam) and I'll be damned if I don't go vote and exercise the rights he fought for me to have...
Sorry don't mean to offend but it's the way we were raised.....

Are we voting for which one should be first againt the wall when the revolution comes?
In that case Mcain he has done more damage to the constitution than I ever thought possible.
Then Hillary she doesn't deserve to be outside a prison let alone running for president (on a side note if she wins think she'll bring the stuff she stole back into the White House)
Obama in another ten years he might learn enough to make a good president, on the other had Democrats tend to learn pretty slowly, so maybe not.

There is very little known about Obama. He's an unknown quantity, as far as I'm concerned. So I cannot vote for him.
I am much too principled to vote for Clinton, or McCain.
NONE of the Above!!!!

I think it's too early to pick... hell, we haven't even gotten to the point in the process yet where candidates start dragging out pictures of their opponents in intimate situations with monkeys and accusing them of other immoral acts, etc.
Nor do we know if anyone (eg, Bloomburg, Nadar, whoever) is going to mount an independent bid... each state has it's own laws, but such a bid will likely become evident by early March so they can meet the deadline for turning in petition signatures sometime in early May in Texas, which I believe has the earliest deadline to lock in who's on the November ballot.Last edited by azjoe; 02-06-2008 at 05:48 PM.
