Meat-flavored-meat-substitutes make me gag. My least favorite thing is going to a "vegeterian" restaurant and looking at a long list of fake-meat.

As for good proteins and favorable fats, I'm doing a better job of putting on lean muscle than I did when I ate meat. Rice and beans as a dietary base provides excellent proteins and olive oil is one of the most favorable fats out there. Eating whole grains is even better.

I don't do this for ethical or moral reasons, so I don't look down on meat eaters, but I do wonder sometimes why people seem so taken in with steak (although I know the answers, so no need to rehash them).
I always thought that it was pretty ironic that Morning Star or Boca were touting for a while, "Tastes just like beef!" Granted, it was a marketing scam to get the borderline meat eaters, but it still made me chuckle. I've recently found that I have a bunch of food intolerance's, so I've cut back on my red meat consumption on advise of my doctor. Actually, I haven't felt better in 15 years!

If we weren't supposed to eat animals, God wouldn't have made them taste so good.

I wouldn't say I'm a vegetarian, but I have about 5 cook books. I try to cook with less meat if I can. Stupid liver cranks out the cholesterol.

I do feel leather is still a bit better but if one cannot use leather this does fit the bill.

I fit into the latter group (I have one of Tony's synthetic strops for travel), and have to say even though it is synthetic, and I do have one of Tony's regular strops as well, the synthetic is rapidly becoming one of my one or two favorite strops.

    It does work quite well.

Chicken, eggs fish. No beef what so ever. You guys that eat at fast food joints should check out the movie "fast food nation". You may change your minds about eating beef. I know that movie definitely made me never want to eat beef. That is only the tip of the iceberg too.I only eat free range chickens too and wild caught salmon.

Yeah my family is vegetarian - damn proud of it too! Can't imagine ever eating an animal again, kinda barbaric when you take a good look at it. I also find it so ironically human of us, that as a western society we love our cats, dogs etc, even make films about them like they're one of us, yet we've mechanised the murder of other kinds of animals without even blinking - I mean seriously, there are other things to eat for crying out loud. And don't get me started on the fur trade in China, someone posted about a PETA video here on SRP of one of these skinning farms - damn, I actually couldn't finish watching the thing, was weeping like a girl - they skin the animals alive - I can't even talk about it seriously, yeah it's a sick world... sooooooo angry!

OK my bad, enough preaching, gonna take a break now to go make a 'vegetarian' dinner. Cheers guys.
