Thanked: 90Ah beer, my favorite subject. I don't really have a favorite beer. Lately, though, I've been a bit burnt out on the extra hoppy American Micro-brew styles. I've been enjoying some Pauliner Dopple Bock lately. I really love the malty Bavarian styles like Vienna style lagers, bocks, and Oktoberfests.
I have to say, I think that the Pacific Northwest is one of the best places for beer. There are three brew-pubs within a half hours drive of my house. Most taverns, bars, and resturaunts have at least 6 taps with mostly micto-brews offered. I live in the country, too.
Lately, what I really like for the price has been the Henry Weinhard's seasonal offerings. The Classic Dark is a very roasty porter-like lager (I know, a porter's an ale), the Heffeweizen, though not a true heffe, is a very tasty beer, and the Blond Lager is pretty tasty, too. They aren't the best beers, but they are the best for the price from what I can tell.
