In Ohio, whether a store is allowed to sell alcohol or beer on SUnday depends on their type of liquor license. As others have said, distilled spirits...aka BOOZE, are strictly regulated and sold through govt. controlled liquor stores.
Now, a parent can legally take his or her underage son or daughter inside a bar to have a beer...even if they're as young as 17...this was actually a test question on our peace officer test when I took it 12 years ago.

In Oklahoma, nothing above 3 point can be sold on Sundays. In other words, unless you've bought it before Sunday, you'll only be drinking rat piss on the day of rest

To my UK friends: I do NOT endorse the statements of the two gentlemen anove. Feel free to invite me to your private and/or publick houses, I will gladly accept the beverages that these two fine gentlemen chose to forfeit.
And, of course, when I'm in Belgium or Australia I will be extremely happy to compare the local libations with the ones I would have observed in UK (and in all fairness I would need the same quantity).
no rolling packmen from me - I'm dead serious

Belgium has over 1000 different beers.
Most of them are stronger than the 5% alcohol content of plain old (but still good) belgian standard beer (Jupiler )
If you'd drink pint sized quantities, you could do 5 per night, which would get you drunk enough to be called drunk, but not so drunk (after some practise) that you'd be sick.
So that would be 200 days of drinking beer, and you wouldn't have to drink the same beer more than once.
EDIT:
My personal favorite is Grimbergen Tripel which is golden brown of color, consumed in 33 cl quantities (~2/3 of an English pint) and has a nice 9% of alcohol.Last edited by Bruno; 03-31-2008 at 07:26 AM.

since we are off topic my favorite ale is ommegang's abbey ale @8.5% and it is near enough to Belgium.. it is part of the duval family but brewed in cooperstown ny... a little over an hour from me.... all their stuff is good and they have great parties at the brewery ... "Belgium comes to cooperstown" involves a few hundred Belgium and Belgium style beers ... i camp on the grounds or use a designated driver... the party is usually for a weekend
Be just and fear not.

I remember in the '80 you were allowed in Texas to drink beer while driving. Beer in a brown bag was sold at gas stations. If your EtOH level remained under legal limits there was no problem! I am not sure whether that is still allowed.

Yeah, We are not allowed to buy any alcohol on sunday except in a restaurant after 12:30 pm. It is really interesting to me to hear many conservatives talk about how little the government should regulate personal freedoms and then in the same breath support sunday blue laws. I am not saying, of course, that ALL conservatives feel this way. However, it seems to be based on my experience that a good portion of people in counties surrounding ours fit this thought profile. Kind of makes me want to buy a bunch of liquor on Saturday and mix bloody mary's in the church parking lot
But that would be ungentlemanly.

See, you Europeans kicked out the Puritans a few hundred years ago. They came here and enacted Blue Laws....
