What's your charity of choice?
Most people have their causes or charities, and I just wanted to see what our members like to support here.
My personal favorite is Susan G Komen for the Cure (for breast cancer). I feel like it's a worthy cause since this year alone an estimated 182,460 new cases in American women will be diagnosed. I am a proud supporter of boobies everywhere, so my money goes for research to keep women healthy.
The only other charity to get my money is Muscular Dystrophy Association. My only older cousin was only "supposed" to live to age 14 if he was lucky, but through MDA he was able to get the help he needed to survive. He now has a lovely wife, beautiful daughter, and a house.

JDF- Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
I have type 1 Diabetes which is what the JDF mostly deals with as opposed to the ADA. Also, something like 80% of every dollar that goes to them actually goes straight to research, which heightens my hopes of them finding a cure in my lifetime.

Thanked: 0The wife donatesto some juvenile cancer fund.
I tend to donate to St. Baldriks, and then bits here and there. This summer I'll be taking my oldest kids and finding a place to donate some time putting together food boxes or somesuch.Last edited by Criticalpedestrian; 04-24-2008 at 08:47 AM. Reason: politeness

Thanked: 3we donate to the aspca, the womens rescue shelter, and Hospice of the Valley. I think my wife also has something taken out of her pay for the united fund targeted to breast cancer research. We also volunteer with some local groups that assist the elderly.

My time and money goes to the Boy Scouts of America. There is a lot of good to be done by helping kids to grow up right.
