It's not so much that we ignore Ron Paul, but at times he seems to be that crazy guy standing on the corner with a sign...
I've only seen him in 1 debate, so forgive my ignorance here, but he just seemed a bit loopy to me.
I like many of his ideals, but he deals in absolutes to such a degree that if he were elected, his presidency would be absolutely scary.
It would either be an absolute success, or catastrophy.
We need somebody who can see both sides and who knows how to compromise, I don't see Ron Paul as that man.
His veto stamp would never dry out, and Congress would get upset, and set themselves against him for it.
Republicans knock McCain because he's too liberal, Dems knock him because he's too conservative... But as a President, I think he might just be the man who can unite us.
Also he seems to be the least corrupt of the candidates who I think have a chance at winning.

When the primaries started I felt that McCain had the best chance to win against the Democratic nominee, even his best is not good enough because IMO his weakest link is his affinity to W or shall I say W's Iraq policies.
I think the Republicans who think that the current Democratic primaries give them an upper hand may be deluding themselves, because the independent middle that is closely following the elections news only gets to hear from Hillary and Obama by default. They get much more face time on TV and hence are able to deliver their message and stomp on McCain at the same time.
If you ask me the longer the democratic primary goes on the better the chance there is of a Democratic ticket of Obama - Hillary or Hillary - Obama which would seal the deal for the Donkeys and the Elephants would be bitting the dust.

He might be the least corrupt candidate but thats the same as saying hes the least smelly manure pile.
I don't give two hoots about "uniting us" I want a freaking president who will take a stand for the people, keep the socialists in check, one who will put judges who uphold the constitution in office, and one who hasn't already spat on the bill of rights as McCain has done.

Once again Ron Paul. For those of you who seem to be afraid of his percieved absolutism, there is one thing you forget and that is the 535 congressman and senators he'll have to work with. What scares me is the absolutism(elitism) of the 535, to me Dr. Paul is the answer. Some one who respects the constitution and in doing so respects me.

I do like a lot of What Ron Paul stands for, I think the perception of "thoring you r vote away" is one of the hurdles he faces.
Another would be the fear of the worst canidate leads one to vote for who they think can beat the pure evil one even though they are a lessor evil themselves.
If McCain gets elected it will only be because his horns are smaller and less pointy than those of the major party candidate he runs against.

I'd have voted for the McCain of 2000 if he'd gotten the nod. The McCain of 2008 however scares me.
As to the ad itself, I'm astonished and a bit depressed that it's still working.
