Thread: The furious back peddling of Obama! (Can you hear the whistling of the wind?)

The article just got me to see that Obama is obviously nervous and willing to say anything or go back on anything that he has said to please who he needs to to get nominated, and the thread was meant to go in that direction, but I got to considering some deeper questions while I was posting and the result is this thread! Disregard the article and comment on my thoughts, or comment on the article and disregard my thoughts!
I'm hoping that people will consider my thoughts more than the article, but since the thread title falls more in line with the article I think I'll leave it as is! Hopefully this won't cause any more confusion.

Doesn't that go for all presidential candidates. You don't exactly get to a position like that without conforming to the wishes of whatever body that decides.

Yeah, sucks to be priviliged. I've seen statements like this a few times, and I can never tell if people are serious when they say it.

Reading this statement, one would have to assume that you believe that all white males are privileged, and everyone else are just not smart enough, or don't have the capability of getting ahead in the world! It is thoughts and attitudes like these that keep the poor,poor and keep the uneducated, uneducated! As if they didn't have the wherewithal to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and make something of themselves! this sort of thought process is racist, as it applies certain characteristics to certain races!

No. I did not mean to imply that I thought that if you're a white man you've got it easy (and certainly not because of some genetic predisposition). I do think that there are a range of situations where you've got it easier if you're white and/or male.

My guess would be that it would go for most of the western world.
