President Bush lifts Presidential ban on off shore drilling! Oil price drops $17
I guess Bush has learned from the past! When Reagan did a similar thing, oil prices plummeted! Supply and demand!!

Yes, and if we're going to talk about correlations between political statements and price of oil that $17 almost makes up for the Iran-related hikes. Just lift the ban for drilling in the oval office and we'll be back to $1/gallon.

the price of something went down? incredible

George W. Bush apparently left the recent G-8 summit with a "Goodbye from the world's biggest pollutor," and a fist in the air. That, along with him singlehandedly lowering the price of oil by $17 makes him, in my books, better than the first George.
I just pray the Iranians aren't making nukes, I pray that the Israelis don't start a conflict, and I pray the United States does not become involved because then this precious $17 is going to be lost. I think. We should have a policy of appeasement towards communists in the Latin world and fascists in the Arab world because cheap energy will do the world better than puppet democracies and temporary human rights.
Anyways, B4TT! Bush for a third term! If Chavez can try it, THEN SO CAN WE! POWER!!!

Oil is down by another 5 dollars per barrel today! This brings oil down 10% from its peak of 149 dollars (give or take a few pennies) just before Bush made his speech!
