Good health for me. Then I can make time to work on the other choices.

Thanked: 735Actually, the common wisdom is that time is money.
If you then spend that money to get some lovin', then perhaps you are correct
I voted "love", but I also agree with another poster who said "kids".
I find that kids allow you the opportunity for some of the most profound love you may ever experience, both the love that you recieve, and the love that you get to give.
They also help you experience sleep depravation, many opportunities for working on being more patient, and for stepping on many small sharp toys on the floor in the middle of the night.....but all worth it!Last edited by Seraphim; 07-28-2008 at 06:13 PM.

Bruno is correct health is paramount. You might be the richest guy in the world and be loved by millions and have power and all the rest but if you go to the M.D and he says you have 6 months to live what good is all the rest? And what would you pay if he told you,you could give up everything else and be restored to excellent health.

And good health without love is what? Honest question not trying to be provocative. and not aimed at anyone.

Thanked: 131Sorry I was under the assumption that you could only have one. That was kinda implied to me by the fact that you could only choose one poll option. But I guess whichever way you want to look at it is fine by me.

Good health mentally and physically gives you a chance at all the others including love - but as to it lasting eternally, well, as Queen sang in Highlander - 'Who wants to live forever...'
A good gift in that sense would be a healthy innings till mid 80's say and then go out like a light. My wifes granny died earlier this year at 98 - she was healthy (ish - good quality of life) right up to about 94. She had too much time but always received love from her family, she had been the provost of Kirkintilloch (power and respect) and always enjoyed freedom of speech. The removal of good health gradually eroded all the other 'gifts'.

It is said in the Bible that 'Salvation' is the greatest gift of all.

Freud was all for enjoying the moment instead of searching for that elusive cosmic meaning - contentment is great gain! Maybe contentment with whatever you have is the greatest gift.

Thanked: 586Although I believe time is the most valuable thing in life (all the money in the world won't buy you one second), I don't see time as a gift. Time is a property, an aspect of living, as is gravity.
Having been very sick over the last twelve months and facing another surgery tomorrow, I think I must say that health is what is most valuable. I have lost my job because my health failed. My partner is standing by but good health is much less stressful on a relationship. I can see how being healthy and able allows you to pursue the other "gifts".
