@ Wirebeard, my sentiments exactly, I wish that this years contest was just as funny, but then again we dont have John Cleese moderating.

Hi All,
I apologize to the thread's author if this is too off topic, but this seemed the best place.
Just recently I was watching CNN and listening to the commentators suggestions for helping Mr McCain. One person said she thought it was very bad that neither he nor Mrs Palin had really done anything to rein in certain types of radical audience comments. She suggested he actually make a point of showing the audience that he didn't condone that terrorist slant to things.
Well jeepers, ........guess what happened? Yeah, y'all have seen those clips of him being the voice of reason with audience members. Smart eh? He's changed strategy again, since the other wasn't working so well.
Being a naturally bent person, my cynical side dominates much of my thought process, and I'll just toss this out there. I keep seeing that one clip where the woman is corrected by Mr McCain, and he goes on to say what a nice guy Mr Obama is. What a swell man to make that admission!
Here's the thing: I can't help thinking the whole deal was a set up......... that the woman was a plant set up by the McCain strategists to address just the very issue that was mentioned on CNN. Yeah, I'm afraid my cynical side will not let me buy that whole little encounter. The timing's just toooo cute. Sad huh?
Once again, sorry if this derailed the thread's train of thought momentarily.

It could have been a plant but that is hardly necessary as these rallies are teaming with supporters that harbor these views. It's more like that this time he just chose to hear what one was saying.
Personally I do like to believe that this hateful negative turn that the Republican campaign has taken was sold to him as his last ditch effort, to win. I think he's now looking more to his legacy should he mot win. There are some that believe the campaigns are equally negative but really it not even close.
Then there is Sarah Palin who seems to relish in the negativity, that's how she got to where see was in Alaska.
