Masonic Straight Shavers Unite!
I did a search through the forums for words like "masonry" and "freemason," and it would appear to me that there are several of us here.
Although Masonry and straight razors don't really have much in common, I was wondering if there were any fellow Traveling Men out there?
Also, I was thinking it would be neat if there ended being a fair bunch of us, maybe starting a razor club for us, I even have a super awesome name and logo for the club (but it, like many other things, is a secret until the proper time!)
Have a good one!

I though the Free Masons were supposed to be a secret society...
How will you do the secret handshakes online?!
(Please, don't take offense at these jokes... I just couldn't resist! )

There are several masons on board here. However, if you want to start a private razor club, you cannot run it over here. This is SRP, and all members are equal SRP members.

Thanked: 416For this type of thing you might want to consider starting an invitation only social group. If you need any help setting this up send me a pm

Just to add some clarification, you can start a social group, but everything you do is public. There can be no private forums.

Maybe I misunderstood cazadorcovey. I was not thinking of anything private or removed from the rest of the SRP society. I was thiking of it like the 'Daffy Ducks' and 'Butcher Block' clubs. I do not consider being a Mason or a Shrinner a secret, just the traditions in the meetings. The Shriners are a club of Freemasons and we support the Children's Hospitals with free care to children whose parents can not afford proper treatment. Ever been to s Shriner's Circus. THe clowns are a club in the Shriners as are the Shriners you may see on parades.
I do understand the perception of secrecy associated with Freemasons by the general population and based on this perception maybe a club of this nature is not a good idea. Sorry if I offended anyone by supporting this club. Our ideas of the club may have differed.

Thanked: 335Hello brother Covey,
I, too, am a Mason, and a Shriner up here in the soon to be re-frozen tundra of Minnesota; I've even tried a bit of practical masonry with some block and brick laying and have learned that is work much better left to the professionals.
