I've done a total of three, all on Dodge Chargers. The remote starters were Dodge part numbers, too. They can be tricky, but over all worth the effort.

You can get remote starters as a factory installed option now on new Dodge/Chrysler products.

It was an option when I bought my Honda CR-V a few months ago..... They wanted double the price then getting it from a third party vendor. I decided not to get it from Honda, but am thinking about getting one now.

I said the same thing when I got my Civic..... and am looking into getting one as well.

I heard you need to hide the valet key in the car somewhere when you put in a remote start into a Honda ???

You hear anything like that ?

    Yes, you do.

I have been leasing my last few cars so... when I had my VW Jetta, the dealer did not allow me to put one in, because I would have to put a key in it.

Honda said it was no problem!!

The keys on the new cars have computer chips in them that allow the car to start. If you were to just make a copy of the key, it would allow you to get inside the car, but not start it.
