just my take on this but this thread seems like a lot of speculation from some guys who don't like Obama, not all though. isn't it a bit early to bring Obama into all this? i realize that many news organizations have made the connection but they are also looking for shock news stories as usual.
again this is just my take but i doubt that the FBI would arrest someone of that political stature without having some pretty good evidence to back themselves up with. yes this is absolutely me being presumptive but wouldn't there be a pretty big backlash if there was no evidence, as in the FBI being sued for killing his reputation and whoever authorized the arrest would probably be fired which no one would risk. again this may be just me watching too many movies.

If I was an Obama constituent, I'd be pretty ****ed if he didn't speak with the governor at least once about his replacement. "Well Illinois, it's been fun, but I need to go pick out a dog for the big house now. Good luck!"
So either he has no regard for the people who elected him in the first place or he's an idiot. I'm going with the former.

I thought it was supposed to have stopped being one. I don't know the politics, but that seems to be it's long lasting reputation.
As far as whether Obama was involved, or wasn't, we don't know and who knows whether we would ever. I mean if he was asked for money, just refusing isn't good enough - he has to report it etc., so he's better off denying that he has spoken with him at all. Direct talks without preconditions, but with preparation on lower level, if you will...
Like it or not, one thing Obama is not is stupid, so I suspect that he knew what's going on. However there's no political reason for him to get involved directly, that's what the aides are for. He's demonstrated to be extremely skilled politician, so I don't expect that this will have any significant negative effect on him.

Thanked: 150It's not impossible that Obama had any involvement in the scandal, hopefully he is as clean as he claims to be, but as for legal proceedings, it's completely the wrong mindset to hope for a man's guilt before it can be proven.
We should keep a wary eye on them all, to be sure, but lets not demonize anyone unnecessarily.Last edited by Russel Baldridge; 12-10-2008 at 11:19 PM. Reason: HA, Lee, thanks for catching that one!
