Now that I'm retired I'm finally able to spend the time doing the things I like after a law enforcement career.
I like to go rock hounding, amateur astronomy, listening to shortwave broadcasts, gourmet cooking and baking, watch collecting and photography.
Iused to enjoy shooting but after 30 years of carrying a gun for a living its lost its allure.
And of course playing with sharp instruments.

Thanked: 4Random:
Don't forget that delving into the depths of coffeegeekdom can get awfully expensive as well (over $2K in machine and grinders myself).

Thanked: 0I am...
a dreamer
a thinker
a faithful friend
a listning ear.
ambitious
outrageous
sarcastic
humerous (but only on the good days)
I enjoy...
reading
writing
listening
talking.
drumming
strumming
humming
bumming (but only on the bad days)
I love...
my girl
my family
my friends
my God
shaving
spending
indulging
ending (each day well)
I will become...
a genetisist
a husband
a lover
a father
no more
no less
than
perfect (at the end of my days)
I am more
than a poem can describe,
I enjoy more
than a book can hold,
I love more
than the mind can comprehend,
I will become more
than anyone can ever image.

Thanked: 0Married for 31 years, 2 kids...all growd up. We moved to North Carolina from Montreal via Toronto in 1993. I enjoy golfing (a lot). Last year I started to roast my own coffee (great hobby and loads of fun). I used to spend my idle time restoring vintage sports cars back in Montreal but haven't had much time lately. I still own own a 1963 triumph tr3 which is fun to just tool around in and would love to get my hands on an Austin Healy mrkiii, so if you hear of a particularly good deal on one, let me know. I've started to look more seriously into woodworking lately, but my wife has warned me that if I so much as look at even a new dremel, she'll use it to reshape one of my favorite body parts.

Hey David, Thats realy funny  I meant it hurts the fish. I used to catch and release like crazy. But I did some reserch that discoraged me from doing that kind of fishing with a clear conscience. I'm not preaching. I still love catching and eating them. And if people want to catch and release, net them, or use dynamite, I say, go ahead. Its a free country. Thank for the laugh. Tim

Thanked: 0Sailing,... I own two boats and if I could sail them both at the same time I would.
When the wind doesn't blow, it sucks.
Of course it's Hurricane season here right now, shouldn't think too much about the wind blowing! (careful what I wish for). Last year left my wet storage boat without a dock to get to it,... instant mooring.

About a year ago, I was bitten by another obsession, espresso...
Not the stuff at *$, but really good stuff...
Well to do that you need the right equipment, good espresso machine and a good grinder. Well, after much practice, I can get consistent shots, but now the second obsession rears it's head, Fresh Roasted Coffee...
To fully appreciate the quality of the machine and grinder I now needed to home roast my coffee too...
The neighbours and friends think I'm nuts, until they taste truly fresh roasted coffee... Then they are hooked.

Hey Bones59,
Yes, that's me on my fav bike at Willow Springs raceway in the beautiful Mojave Desert. I've seen Lynn's photo with his Harley.
PM me your address, and I'll see if I can hook you up with a bit 'o' the fresh roast. ink:
