I like how everyone here seems to be living a Hemingway/Hefner/James Bond existence.
"During the day I'll drink a bottle of Rye while fishing for Marlin in the ocean. When that's over and done with, I come home, fire up the pipe and read how my stocks are doing. Then it's off to bed, where the bunnies await - but I usually leave around midnight for top-secret missions." 8) Heh heh.
I enjoy cooking, and my love of Henckel knives is actually what lured me into the straight razor thing, since I saw a Henckel razor in the store.
I play guitar, bass and drums. I collect a lot of LPs. I collect antiques as much as a I can. The last one was a great 19th century steamer trunk. Oak, with brass reinforcements.

'Course, I couldn't take my albums with me while in the car or out jogging like I can with CD's.
What are your fav couple of LP's & why?

Your face is mirrored in each virgin groove--oh yes, this baby's untouched; pristine. Then it's on to the turntable, where the the curvy young thing is impaled on the turning point. A tight fit, just the way you like it. Finally, you drop the needle the outermost edge, listen as it hiccups slightly, trying to find the right rhythm --and then it comes: an explosion of music.
My favourite LPs? I'm assuming you mean artwork-wise, so I'll say:
Led Zeppelin: Physical Graffitti. I love the window cut-outs and inserts. It's great. Similar to The Rolling Stones' Some Girls.
The Beatles: Sgt. Pepper's/Magical Mystery Tour/White Album. All of these have neat inserts, booklets, posters, cut-outs and extras.
The White Stripes: Elephant. These guys take pride in their records, and are very specific about everything they put out. Elephant is a gate-fold LP with great artwork. There are two records, one of which is clear red vinyl, and the other is white. So neat.
Neil Young: Harvest. Another gatefold, and the surface of the jacket (I've got 3 copies, and this is true for one of them, anyway) has a velvety "natural-like" cardboard to it.
*Sigh*
Sadly, as I mentioned somewhere before, my place burned down on Sunday. Only a few of my records were warped by the heat, but the water and smoke has left them in very poor condition. They are now beside me, smelling of camp fire and moisture. *Tear*

Thanked: 324So much of life to enjoy
I'm a knife afficianado, particulary custom hunting knive, I've been an archer for 30 years, bowhunting most of them. I enjoy collecting and restoring straight razors and have really enjoyed these forums. By day, I'm a computer programmer, by evening, I build bowstrings, manage orders for my online store, manage, maintain and update my community forums as needed TradTalk .
I host websites for others and help them build their businesses, write articles and how-to's on archery and enjoy graphic design work. I used to compete in with the recurve, but don't have time for that, at least this year.
Overall, I'm about as busy as one-legged man in an arse-kicking contest. But it's all interesting stuff. If I could just make time for sleeping.....

One of my other hobbies are restoring Vintage Maytag washing machine engines and other various hit and miss style engines. My real faves are the Maytag engines. Below is a shot of my recently restored Maytag 72 Twin engine. Runs like a champ and fully overhauled down the the piston rings.

Main hobby for the past almost 13 years has been martial arts. I study at the oldest dojo in Oklahoma City for Japanese martial arts. We teach three different arts: Aikido, Judo, and Jyodo (short staff). The dojo website is http://www.windsongdojo.com. It occurred to me that entire sitcoms have come and gone, and I've never noticed them. I train Tuesday & Thursday nights, plus Saturdays for a total of 7 classes.
Other hobbies include playing guitar, camping, cooking and getting back into hunting & fishing.

Thanked: 0ok well, i dont fly fish, or own a gun, actually i have never shot a gun...
i love hockey, play it whenever i can...(goaltender) i play with many X-NHL, AHL, D1 players on a regular basis...i always wanted to make a run at the minor leagues, but i cant afford to not work. I work at a Casino issuing the financials with the SEC, and I have always had a huge interest in the art of gambling. I play poker whenever i can, i love the competition. I just bough a dodge magnum with a HEMI, and i am obsessed with it, when i get some money to add some "extras" i will. and then there is my new obsession of these "razors"...i hate you all, as i can see myself spending lots of cash on this.
i guess i am a huge beleiver in the Risk v. Reward philosophy...whether its happliy stepping in front of 90+ mph slapshots, taking a sharp razor to my neck, or putting $300 in there on a poker hand...its all for the reward, or self gratification.

Thanked: 0Interesting thread.
Hi guys, I'm new here,...name's Tommy, most of you seem to be interested in the same things I am!
I love to hunt, 'specialy Pheasant. I'm a member of Single Action Shooter's Society, we shoot what we call "Cowboy Action"; live ammo, old guns, steel targets.
I love to reload and do leatherwork, as well as pen and ink architectural renderings of very old buildings.
The thing I love the most, and keeps me the busiest, is playing side-drum for the North Texas Caladonian Pipe and Drums. We compete all over North America through out the summer. One of the best!
I just now got interested in straight razors because of a thread on the Pipe and Drum Forum I post on. I'm excited as hell about not only learning every thing I can from some of you, but a good old fashioned close shave!
Oh yeah, I collect and clean/oil old pocket watches, mostly Elgins and Walthams from the 1890's to the 1930's.
