Thanked: 101Erin, or Evan. Evan is traditionally a male name derived from Ewan and John, but there are girls coming up with the name too. Erin is my daughter's name and Evan is MINE!

My wife loves the name Imogen. That baby could arrive today! We had a very hard time agreeing on names for our boy. Seriously butting heads for months, never able to meet minds on the subject. The morning he was born, between a quick nap and the arrival of the whole famn damily, her breakfast arrived. I told her I was going down to the cafeteria and that when I got back we'd "talk about what's-his-name". That got her thinking and when I got back I said, "so what do you think about a name"? She said, "I think Marlow". I said, "I agree". Just like that. And then she added, "What about a middle name"? I returned it to her with, "What do you think"? "You know I like Gaél". "So do I", I concluded and it was over like that. Months of arguing, over in seconds. Seeing him made it clear. .... That was us.
Years ago I blamed my father for my ridiculous name. His name is Ulric and so is my older brother. My mother wanted something equally bizarre to torture me with. My father told me, "When the woman you love has just gone through hours of painful labour you let her name the child anything she wants". That was them. You'll find your own way to a label I'm sure. Just be sure to let us all know when the bundle of joy arrives.

Congratulations & Good Luck!
My daughter & little pumpkin goes by the name Myfanwy Alexandra. Myf for short. Myfanwy is Welsh & means my beautiful/rare one. She is the first girl on my paternal side for at least eight generations & every one's ray of sunshine. Alexander was my great uncle & twin brother's name, as well as my ex's brother. Silver has already mentioned what we're calling Squid.

My daughter was born on December 23rd and we named her Gralyn. It took 6 months, but when we came up with that one, we knew it was it.
Give it time, it will come.
