Thanked: 328The Inaugration
While SRP doesn't take official political positions, other than shaving is good.. We do all like hanging out together.. So here's where we can all watch the inaugration together, and hang out in the chat.

I am in DC and you would not believe the strain the event has put on the city. I will probably watch the even on Hulu like the rest of y'all, don't want to go to the even. I will never go to one no matter who is getting inaugrated, don't like them period.

I'll stick to watching Turner Classic Movies or the Speed Channel.

I'm sitting down with my 6-y-o to watch it tomorrow. I remember my Dad sitting me down to watch the first Shuttle launch (1981?) and saying "Pay attention, son, this is history in the making". I figure it's my turn to say that tomorrow.

Ah, I remember sitting down with my mum as a wee one to watch Nixon resign. Good times.

Thanked: 150The one thing that has always truly amazed me about our country, since its inception, is the peaceful transfer of power. We have a man (and some day maybe a woman) who is the head of the most powerful war machine that the world has ever seen, and, after his term is up, he willingly and peacefully hands over the keys to the Whitehouse, and all the power that goes with it, to the next President. That is amazing!! May God Bless the United States of America, and her next President!
