I totally agree with your grandmother! I'm from a small fishing town in northern NB and our lobster is the best there is!

Each spring we get fresh lobster, crab, shrimp, scallops!

    Town of Shippagan

The ones on that side of the province didn't rank very high with her either! I haven't been to Shippagan in 15 years or so. Always loved roaming that part of the province - I couldn't understand the locals, they couldn't understand me, yet managed to have great 'conversation' over a few beer all night (a lot of 'hand talking' going on ... of which the French locals were masters!)

Dups, are you doing you law degree in Fredericton or Moncton?

Fredericton. I'm actually in my last semester. I have a job lined up in St John after I graduate.

I have to say, I've tasted maple syrop from all over, and the best I've ever had is from the sugar bush in Quebec, especially if you can go to the sugar shack during sugaring off period and get it almost straight from the trees!

    Yum!

And I agree with X - we do need political reform - the leaders of our political parties think that they are elected directly by the people, and we have no choice but to vote along party lines even if our local representative is a dick. Mixed-member proportional is the way to go, I think...but just getting Canadians to talk about reform will be a great first step.

Canada is a beautiful Country. I've been there several times. I pulled into St.John's with the US Navy in the 80's, major tide shifts...
Besides Beer and Hockey, let's not forget those Canadian Ladies.....
