Default Fantastic article about Bush's photos

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall - Errol Morris Blog - NYTimes.com

It's a very interesting read and goes over some of the most iconic and historic photos of President Bush. I ask that there not be a discussion of anything except the article and the pictures. Otherwise, please enjoy.

The amazing thing about this set of photos is that you can't hide the fact that this is a human being with enormous responsibility on his shoulders. No matter how I felt about Bush as a president, these pictures tell me that I didn't know him as a person (not news to me but an interesting effect of the photos).

Being the President must be a lonely job in many respects.

Thanks so much for sharing this!

    I liked it.

It's, of course, a story that Errol Morris tells using the story telling of three other guys, about their of the G. W. Bush storymaking...

So, yeah, it's a pretty well made movie, just like his other one, but it's trying a bit too hard for my taste.

thanks for posting, i probably wouldn't have stumbled on it

Well, what I took from this is that G.W. has at least 2 different US Army PT jackets with a 1st AD patch on one, and an unknown unit patch on the other. He likes to wear them to meet the troopsies. I guess he's not aware that it is against regs to wear PT gear after 0900, or to wear one piece of the uniform without the other pieces. Actually, that os the biggest thought I had. I know, I'm weird.

I knew a colonel that wore his old missile man scarf with his flight suit and kept his hands in his air force gloves almost all the time. Sure it was "against regs", but who's going to call him on tradition and putting his hands in his pockets? If brass can do it, surely the commander in chief can wear a PT jacket in the desert. Hell, I'd wear 'em too- in my experience, the jackets are comfy, fit well, and tend to look great no matter what.
