How's that? You just said you were a lifer in the active military. I didn't know any branch of the U.S. Armed forces has ever had a lay off when things get slow. I know that advancement becomes tougher based on "billet concentration and requirements" but why do you say that war is your job security? Now if you were a civilian working for a defence contractor I could see your point.

It was more of a joke. And yes the military does lay off people. They have alot of names for it, one would be "Force Shaping" when they recruit to many..also if you are attempting to reenlist you have to go through and basically apply to keep your job. only the most qualified and best rated gets to reenlist. If you don't get chosen you dont get to reenlist. If there is war and they need more people.......
