Unfortunely I've not been with my girlfriend long enough to make my case on this subject...but just long enough something is expected. So a pretty Pyrex bowl (she collects/likes) a mooshy letter and a dinner is on the ticket for Saturday.

My wife and I were going to stay home, have a nice Italian meal, and play board games, but now a friend volunteered to baby sit, so we are going out and then to a movie. It will be a nice date, but not because it is valentines day.

I don't know about your wife Matt, but I do know women, and regardless of what they say, this day has meaning to them. Of course you should treat your wife like a rose every day. I'll tell my wife that too. There will still be some anticipation. Especially when every other wife in America is eating chocolate and looking at flowers.

I say F* it, doing right this day buys me about a week of uninterrupted time in the garage.

I think we'll probably have a nice night of washing diapers together ... maybe rent a movie.

Some things you shouldn't do:
Go out to a movie.
Go out to dinner.
You'll have a terrible time with every other man who can't think of anything better to do gets his girlfriend in your way.
