Every year, I do the same thing, and somehow she seems to like it (has said so very explicity), and does not WANT any present.
I come home early from work (this year it won't matter), and cook a multi-course meal that we have not had before. I usually grab some flowers from the market while I am there (wholefoods), no roses..she doesn't like 'em (I'm lucky!). Then we open a few bottles of wine and enjoy.
This will be our first with the baby, so we'll wait until after she's in bed, I guess.

Thanked: 17I don't do valentine's day, it's my birthday and i reserve the right to not do anything for anyone on my birthday especially since that's my favorite grandparent's anniversary as well.

I will get her some good chocolates and then because she is on I diet I will eat them for her.

I'm getting out cheap, I gotta work that weekend. I did get her a cute card, and I'll buy her some little jewel, maybe a charm to put on her vintage charm bracelet.
Here's the card I got her: Greeting Cards . I suggest you gents order one if it's the least you do. Just a little effort goes a long way.

Besides the obligatory flowers, SWMBO has expressed interest in a locket, so I'll be sneaking off to the antique store or google to find one. I get leeway though because it's my birthday too.

Some roses, jewelry, and a nice leather holster for her CCW.

Thanked: 150Nothing. This is the most created, fake, hallmark holiday there is. I think you should not have a day set aside to treat your wife/girlfriend special, when you should be treating her that way every day. My wife and I were going to stay home, have a nice Italian meal, and play board games, but now a friend volunteered to baby sit, so we are going out and then to a movie. It will be a nice date, but not because it is valentines day.
