What is this "rep" you kids are talking about? God thease extra features are wasted on me. I see folks talk about casinos and wikis and reps. I can barely key in a response on a thread. I did once figure out how to make a poll thingy but I doubt I could do it again. It's lile all the extraa stuff my cell phone can do. I took a picture with it but I don't know how to access the picture or use it in any way.

It's a wonder I can figure out how to dress myself each day. I miss the matching animal tags.

Yes, the same Ice Cube who is really a movie star nowadays in all sorts of comedy roles etc. Well, he was also a rapper back in the day lol. A VERY anti-a lot of things one. One of those "Antis" was white people. Now I actually love a lot of his older stuff and am not offended by it at all. I really couldn't care. BUT the same venues that refuse to carry Skrewdriver I'm sure wouldn't even pay attention if you tried to point out some Ice Cube stuff. It makes them too much money because of his fame.
exactly. I'm not in favor of racist music by whites, I'm just furious about the double standard concerning racism when it's directed at the majority.

Or to put it another way, I think that as long as I can buy Ice Cube on iTunes, I should also be able to buy Skrewdriver. That's equality.

Are the two (Ice Cube and Skrewdriver) equally offensive (or not offensive) to you?
    Just curious.
Not that it makes any difference neccesarily, I'm just interested in the conversation.

Interesting. I find them equally ignorant, but the white power stuff is more offensive.
Ah, for that Rawlsian veil of ignorance....would I still agree?

I fail to see why group 1 hating group 2 is more offensive than group 2 hating group 1.

Seems like a double standard to me.

It is a double standard. I met a white woman at a writing course one time who explained that she smiles at black people because she feels she owes blacks some special treatment. I wanted to push her down a flight of stairs.

So, what do you guys think of this! I suspect, based on the little I have read that these guys are the scum of the earth, but do we ban their opinions and ideas?
I leave it to you guys!
I couldn't care less. Racist music, regardless of the source, is made for the LCD. I am not worried about the LCD. I don't have the time for it. Opinions sure are like @ssholes aren't they? Everyone has one and they all stink.

It is a double standard. My thought is that perhaps that double standard is justified. The world is FULL of people being treated differently. Sometimes it is OK. Kids can't have guns, inmates are locked in cells, you can't perform surgery (unless you happen to be a doctor, if so, i apologize). Sometimes it is OK. or at least understandable/acceptable.
I happen to feel that way here. MOST (note...MOST, not all) gangsta rap is a commentary on what seems to be social injustice. It comes from, and is an outgrowth OF, a culture that has, historically, been treated pretty poorly by US white society. Does ganta rap hate whites qua whites? Or whitesas occupy a position of power that THEY SEE as holding them down, etc?
White power groups hate balcks because they are an assault on their pure white "race."
    I STILL see a difference.

I would have kneeled behind her so she could have gotten a bigger bounce. I hope (though can't be sure) that my arguments and thoughts on this matter are seen as different than this woman.

racism is racism. both sides are guilty of collectivism (icedog, you DID quote me more or less correctly, and definitely in the spirit of what i said.)

both sides are guilty of hating because someone is "on the other side."

guess what? not all white guys own/owned slaves. not all black guys kill cops and do drive bys. both are stereotypes. hating someone just because they belong to a group that may have not treated you well once upon a time in no way guarantees that individual was ever in the wrong.

    just more stupid collectivism.
