Thanked: 586What is this "rep" you kids are talking about? God thease extra features are wasted on me. I see folks talk about casinos and wikis and reps. I can barely key in a response on a thread. I did once figure out how to make a poll thingy but I doubt I could do it again. It's lile all the extraa stuff my cell phone can do. I took a picture with it but I don't know how to access the picture or use it in any way.
It's a wonder I can figure out how to dress myself each day. I miss the matching animal tags.

exactly. I'm not in favor of racist music by whites, I'm just furious about the double standard concerning racism when it's directed at the majority.
Or to put it another way, I think that as long as I can buy Ice Cube on iTunes, I should also be able to buy Skrewdriver. That's equality.

Are the two (Ice Cube and Skrewdriver) equally offensive (or not offensive) to you?
Just curious.
Not that it makes any difference neccesarily, I'm just interested in the conversation.

It is a double standard. My thought is that perhaps that double standard is justified. The world is FULL of people being treated differently. Sometimes it is OK. Kids can't have guns, inmates are locked in cells, you can't perform surgery (unless you happen to be a doctor, if so, i apologize). Sometimes it is OK. or at least understandable/acceptable.
I happen to feel that way here. MOST (note...MOST, not all) gangsta rap is a commentary on what seems to be social injustice. It comes from, and is an outgrowth OF, a culture that has, historically, been treated pretty poorly by US white society. Does ganta rap hate whites qua whites? Or whitesas occupy a position of power that THEY SEE as holding them down, etc?
White power groups hate balcks because they are an assault on their pure white "race."
I STILL see a difference.
I would have kneeled behind her so she could have gotten a bigger bounce. I hope (though can't be sure) that my arguments and thoughts on this matter are seen as different than this woman.

racism is racism. both sides are guilty of collectivism (icedog, you DID quote me more or less correctly, and definitely in the spirit of what i said.)
both sides are guilty of hating because someone is "on the other side."
guess what? not all white guys own/owned slaves. not all black guys kill cops and do drive bys. both are stereotypes. hating someone just because they belong to a group that may have not treated you well once upon a time in no way guarantees that individual was ever in the wrong.
just more stupid collectivism.
