I know this story is a week old now but I still can't believe the dozy tart did it, way to give women drivers an even worse rep!!
Breastfeeding Mum Genine Compton Charged For Driving And Talking On The Phone In Dayton, Ohio | World News | Sky News
So, what? She couldn't pull over for 10 minutes to feed her child? Or better yet, fed the baby BEFORE leaving the house. Bloody stupid and irresponsible.

Pull over and feed the kid. Get the other kids to school and feed in the parking lot.

That would explain some observed driving habits in my neighborhood, too.

People like that are why we bicyclists who ride the road do so with some trepidation. I've seen a driver text messaging while going down the highway. There ought to be a law and it should be enforced.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Jimmy, last year I was witness to a plank riding a motorbike while trying to text at the same time!!!!
I guess this one just got my back up as it is a bloody stupid thing to do and as I am on the verge of being a new mom myself I just couldn't believe someone had done this. Last year in Wales there was one woman charged for dangerous driving because she got caught putting her war paint (make up) on while driving.
Maybe we should start our own Darwin Awards thread and nominate those utterly stupid people out there whose extinction from the gene pool would be beneficial to the greater good.

Don't forget bikers. I typically experience at least one close(ish) call every time I ride. Since I live in a college town, it's usually some kid too busy talking to their friends to drive their too big vehicle. My motorcycle horn has gotten more use than my car horn! Most people just don't understand that they are in way more danger than they think by being in their cars. They've been lulled into a false sense of security and drive carelessly. When my Dad taught me how to drive, one of the first things he told me (and I'll never forget it) is "every time you're in a car, you're 6 inches from death". It's a pity that most people don't know that.

It takes all kinds to make the world go round. I try to make it a point to not assume anyone will do anything except what might be most dangerous. It's safer that way.
A long time ago I heard that in Sweden, when someone was cough driving while intoxicated they had to ride with rescue equipment responding to highway accidents for a time. I've been to my share of those as a volunteer firefighter and it does 'enlighten'. I firmly believe that should be the sentence for all stupid acts committed while driving.“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)
