I agree with most. Connery is the best. With that being said, Daniel Craig is a VERY close second for me and I can see him edging out Connery with time. I love how he makes the character more cut-throat at times.

Thanked: 278I'm going to go with Connery. But it has to be said the script and direction play a large part in this. Craig would be great in a great Bond movie, Connery would have been bad in a bad one.
Don't mention Zardoz!

I agree with Jockeys that Craig is the most like the psycho in Ian Fleming's books. Fleming's Bond was a mad dog playboy loner without all the fancy equipment. He terminated problems up close and personal. However, the Bond movies are all very Hollywood. They share the titles and a few characters, but the books are vastly different than the movies. The movies, even Craig's "Casino Royale", are all toned down PC versions of the books.
That said, Connery is Bond for me. I was an impressionable teen when I saw my first Bond movie, "Thunderball" and I hadn't read the books.

When i was a boy my favourite was Moore. He'd resolve every fight with a swift kick to his opponents plums!
Over time it became Connery. The films are better & he's a great Bond.
No Bond will ever oust him, for me, as no film could be more exciting now than they were when i was a boy!

To me the best was Connery, followed by Brosnan. Like 2 generations of 007. They were the most classy.
Craig... I don't know, not really. Maybe because he's BLOND!!!

Sean Connery was king, his early bonds were good, not a lot of Hollywood crap, just brains and balls, then it got really stupid with gimmickry and gadgetry. The others are not worth mentioning. Now Craig comes along and is doing it better, mostly because the movie character is closer to the novel character, its gotten back to brains and balls and realistic violence can now be shown in film, which gives him an edge over Connerys bond.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

Thanked: 25It is Sean Connery all the way. These are my dad's favorite movies. I'm pretty sure he owns everyone. I used to watch them all the time when I was growing up.
